Confinement
Hits for this post:671
I’m getting ready for my 30 days confinement. Argh…usually I don’t follow the full 30 days, I slacked after after 21 days and the last week I don’t follow as much. Being confined at home for 30 days can really make one go cuckoo..
The Chinese normally practise this during the confinement period, it’s the process of rejuvenating the womb.
- 1st to 5th day     Cleansing and detoxifying
- 6th to 10th day   Firming of the womb and enhancing the qi
- 11th to 20th day Strengthening spine and pelvic
- 21st to 30th day Revitalizing and building energy
These can be done by consuming specially prepared food and herbs.

Hi MM–sounds like such an interesting ritual. Do men having any comparable ritual?
Nothing for the men. It’s not interesting..the ritual is torturing.Â
hmmm… I never really understand the ‘Chinese’ confinement. To me, its just resting, getting use to the new schedule (baby) and eat yummy hot food! ahahah.. I miss the ‘Wong Chiu (tapai)’ Chicken and ‘Chu Kiok’(pig leg vinegar or watever u call it – tho in my case, my MIL wont put any pork hooves as I would faint seeing them)’
I love confinement food..the one that my mum cooks la…My MIL cooks the same boring stuff every day.
